Abstract—The transformation of a quantitative variable to
z-scores can also be called standard-deviation values. It
measures the distance of a value from the mean in standard
deviations. One purpose of the z-score is to help compare data
values that are measured in different scales. With a given set of
data values, the same z-scores will be computed regardless of
the units of the values.
